The Cytotechnologist performs clinical diagnostic studies and evaluations of cellular material from all body sites.

Performs routine screening of cell specimens, reports results and documents daily workload records.
Processes specimens for analysis according to specifications related to the type of specimen.
Performs quality control assessment, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
May assist in the collection and processing of fine needle aspiration specimens.
May update policies and procedures to meet accreditation requirements.
Performs other duties as required or directed

Certified Cytotechnologist credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) . Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) requirements for Cytotechnologist.
Bachelor's Level Degree
Requires graduate of an accredited bachelor's level degree in Cytotechnology; in lieu of a bachelor level degree, a minimum of ten years in combination of relevant education and relevant experience in Cytotechnology accepted.
Requires a minimum of 6 months on the job experience.
