Develops infection control policies for the ambulatory settings and assesses adherence to infection control processes in this setting
Coordinates development and periodic reporting of common Infection Control metrics and outcome measures for all outpatient sites
Required to travel to various locations as needed
Plays a key role in the development and implementation of a system wide Infection Control strategy. Ensures appropriate metric reporting to MedStar leadership, and assists sites in acquiring the appropriate knowledge and resources to ensure continual improvement in performance. Ensures high quality of both the process and results of the work.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree in clinical specialty.
EXPERIENCE: 3 years experience in healthcare infection control leadership and/or consulting, including leading and conducting staff education on related topics, obtaining and interpreting infection control metrics, and developing infection control policy and strategy; thorough knowledge concerning current infection control practice.
LICENSE/CERT/REG: Valid RN license in the State of Maryland and/or District of Columbia. CIC preferred.
SKILLS: Ability to facilitate a team to defined outcomes in a timely manner. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications. Excellent oral and written communication.
