ADON/INFECTION CONTROL NURSE

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for the clinical practice of nursing which includes assisting the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in directing all services provided by the Nursing Department including the onboarding and ongoing educational and competency processes. As a member of nursing leadership, this position ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and services consistent with the facility's goals and objectives, and actively participates in a leadership role by consulting with facility management in designing and providing total patient care and services. Under the direction of the CNO, the ADON position is an integral component of nursing services performance improvement activities. The ADON will be a part of the Senior Leadership team and will be in the call rotation for the Administrator on Call. The Infection Control Practitioner is responsible for the development and implementation of an infection control program for all inpatient and partial hospital programs to include the surveillance, prevention, and control of infection to reduce the risks of acquiring and transmitting infection among patients and employees. The Infection Control Practitioner provides employee health services, patient and staff education, and coordinates the Infection Control function. The Infection Control Practitioner functions in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Southern Crescent BHS and the Standards of Practice of the Center for Disease Control.
