Directs the overall Infection Prevention Program for the entire IFMC campus. Leads and manages strategic initiatives and organizational priorities to achieve Inova's mission and strategic objectives. Demonstrate ability to design, evaluate, analyze and present data and performance metrics. Maintain the highest degree of competency in the area of infection prevention and prevention and control and epidemiology. Establish consistent infection prevention and control practices in accordance with regulatory standards throughout the facility. Serve as the primary liaison and information resource for the department. Act as a subject matter expert and consultant to customers including patients, staff, physicians, and departmental personnel to improve infection prevention within the organization. Provide other infection prevention and control support as needed. Manages Professional staff, including day-to-day supervision, employee relations and staff development. Establishes and maintains effective and responsive relationships with leadership, medical staff, other departments and key internal and external stakeholders.
Clinical experience as a RN or MT or MPH experience in Infection Prevention and Control/Epidemiology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient computer skills.
Proven Leadership Skills and highly effective at leading a team and fostering a team environment.
Customer focused, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain partnerships.
Strong problem solving capabilities and can effectively prioritize.
Able to serve as a mentor and resource to other IPs.
Five years experience in Infection Prevention and Control/Epidemiology.
Two years first line management experience and/or 2 years Infection Prevention and Control/Epidemiology management.
MT, BSN or BA required
Preferred: Master's Degree
Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
Travel between Inova facilities. Familiarity with computer programs and data analysis.
