To be fully engaged in providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by working to inspire responsible attitudes, ensure quality results, and manage resources through a team approach, develop an integrated network of Health First leaders, physicians, associates, and infection control professionals to control and prevent infectious disease in our facilities, clinics, and community, reduce the incidence of healthcare-associated infection, and reduce the risk of occupational infectious disease. This position is responsible for all activities related to the prevention, control, documentation and reporting of healthcare-associated infections and communicable diseases throughout all Health First facilities and services.

Lead, coach, develop, and retain Infection Control associates to ensure a highly-engaged and effective team.
Develops and maintains comprehensive programs and systems designed to reduce the risk of occupational infectious disease throughout all Health First facilities and services.
Develops and maintains comprehensive programs and systems designed to reduce the incidence of healthcare-associated infection throughout all Health First facilities and services.
Ensures continuous improvement of the Infection Control Program through effective and comprehensive assessment of opportunities and risk throughout all Health First facilities and services.
Ensures continuous compliance with appropriate accreditation and regulatory standards.
Develops and maintains effective and accurate concurrent surveillance systems for the detection of healthcare-associated infection.
Directs activities for special studies or outbreak investigations as necessary.
Develops and maintains accurate, comprehensive and timely reporting systems to provide objective tools to measure and improve the effectiveness of the Infection Control program.
Ensures accurate and timely identification and reporting of significant Communicable Disease as required by law.
Effectively represents the Infection Control Program throughout all Health First facilities and services.
Develops and maintains systems for accurate and timely identification and reporting of healthcare-associated infection as required by law and/or regulatory standards.
Current FL license required (for discipline). Bachelor’s degree in health related field or Medical Technology required. Master’s degree preferred.
National certification in Infection Control required.
Minimum 7 years of experience in infection control with supervisory experience in an inpatient hospital required
Knowledge and experience in-patient care practices, microbiology, aseptic technique, disinfection/sterilization, adult education, infectious diseases, communication, and epidemiology.
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and leading full-continuum, multi-hospital and clinic Infection Prevention and Control Programs
Manual dexterity and good eyesight.
Able to endure >8 hour in periods of moderate physical activity (walking, etc.)
Able to lift 20 pounds unassisted.
Able to review limited-access areas (under equipment, behind furniture, etc.).
