Assumes the lead role in the Epidemiology and Infection Prevention Program for Sibley Memorial Hospital, under the supervision of the Senior Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Infection Prevention. Provides leadership and oversight for developing, managing, coordinating, integrating, evaluating, reporting and initiating educational activities of the Infection Prevention program at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Renaissance (skilled nursing facility),and Grand Oaks (assisted-living facility).
Provides strategic and operational direction for the framework of an integrated approach to Infection Prevention and Control program, facilitates and leads the Infection Control Committee with its chairman. Works closely with Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers, and leaders of the Medical Staff to make Infection Prevention a collaborative effort.
Works to ensure Sibley Memorial Hospital, Renaissance (skilled nursing facility),and Grand Oaks (assisted-living facility) meets all regulatory requirements for Infection Prevention and Control and policies and procedures are in compliance with TJC, OSHA, CDC, CMS and other county, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Ensure reporting of IPC data to the Federal, DC, and local authorities as required.
Four years work experience in a hospital or related health care setting, including leadership/management experience. Three years experience as an Infection Control Practitioner.
