The Infection Preventionist, in collaboration with the Director of Infection Prevention and the Infection Prevention Committee actively participates in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the Medical Center’s Infection Prevention Program. This includes the hospital, including the Rose Seelig and Grover Hermann Division, as well as the Skilled Nursing Unit.
Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in various specialties in acute care facility. Experience and/or training in principals of infection surveillance/prevention/control is required. Knowledge/skill/experience in computer technology is required.
Required Certification/Registration: • Professional Registered Nurse, licensed by the State of New York. • Current certification in infection control preferred. If not already certified, then requirement to complete EPI training courses and achieve certification within 2 years.
Physical Requirements: Walks, stands, sits throughout the day.
