Vice President – Quality Patient Safety & Clinical Effectiveness Luminis Health
Luminis Health, a multihospital system headquartered in Annapolis, Md is seeking an experienced, innovative individual to serve as an executive leader for the implementation of quality, patient safety.
A newly integrated health system formed in 2019, Luminis Health serves a region of more than 1.5M including residents of Anne Arundel County, Prince George’s County, Calvert County, and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Comprised of Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC), Doctors Community Medical Center (DCMC), the J. Kent McNew Family Medical Center & Pathways, and the Luminis Health Clinical Enterprise (multi-specialty practice groups, ambulatory sites and clinics, and clinical service lines), the health system includes 635 licensed beds, more than 6,400 employees, 1,800 medical staff, and 1,300 volunteers. With total revenues of $1.1B, Luminis Health reported $63M in community benefit with strong community outreach and population health partnerships. The system provides patient and family-centered care with 34,400 hospital admissions, 155,000 emergency department visits, 32,000 surgeries, more than one million outpatient visits, and a thriving telehealth platform.
As Vice President, Quality, Patient Safety and Clinical Effectiveness, you will assume responsibility for the system-wide function of quality, patient safety, infection control, patient experience, and accreditation services. The VP works with the senior management team, as well as medical staff leaders and the quality committees of the board to set strategic priorities, assess operations to ensure compliance, and guide the implementation of improvements in the above-stated functions.
Based on Luminis Health’s long-term vision & strategic plan, as well as the annual operating plan, and in collaboration with the board and executive leadership sets the vision, direction, and priorities for all functions mentioned above system-wide.
Collaborate with management, medical leaders and staff, front-line staff, and all stakeholders in program planning, implementation of strategic organizational goals, and achievement and sustainability of desired results.
Develop and implement strategies and initiatives to ensure that Luminis Health remains in a constant state of readiness for regulatory activities.
Serves as the system link to external regulatory bodies, as well as external quality and safety organizations.
Mentor, coach and evaluate direct reports and quality, patient safety, infection control, patient experience, and accreditation/regulatory teams
Establish relationships and interact with key external stakeholders, including but not limited to the Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC), Maryland Patient Safety Center, Maryland Hospital Association, national and local health care quality and patient safety organizations, and the community to foster partnerships to drive desired outcomes.
Masters in health care administration or a related field
Ten or more years of progressive healthcare experience, preferably in an integrated healthcare system
Proven experience and success with the development and implementation of quality, patient safety, infection control, patient experience, and accreditation/regulatory programs
Clinical background strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment
Requires an exceptional combination of interpersonal expertise, clinical knowledge, innovation, leadership, management, business acumen, vision, and tenacity
