Dental assistants at this level serve in a supervisory capacity. This position independently performs more complex work in assigned specialties while receiving general administrative supervision from chief, dental service. The Dental Assistant assists the dentist in many aspects of direct patient care and performs other clinical and clerical functions independently of direct supervision. Supervisory duties (80%) Provides supervisory as well as non-supervisory duties, and may spend up to 50% non-chairside duties.
