PRIMARY FUNCTION: To maintain/improve the nutritional status of patients by assessing nutritional risk, evaluating nutritional requirements, developing care plans, providing nutrition education, and evaluating patient nutritional outcomes. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Identifies and prioritizes patients requiring nutrition intervention and education based upon nutrition screening protocols. Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to interpret clinical data obtained from medical records. Evaluates patients' nutritional status correctly and assigns appropriate risk levels.
