JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK�s cross streets is named in his honor. Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California.

POSITIONDESCRIPTION:
Coordinates employee andoccupationalhealthservices ensuringhospitalcompliance withregulatory/legal standards;developing, implementing,andadministering employeesafetyandwellnessprograms;provides employee health education and guidance and establishes/maintain records and systems to support the employee health programs. Completes the data collection from testing results and follow-up for all personnel. Additionally, the EH&W Coordinator is responsible for Industrial Injury follow up and documentation.
Administers pre-employment screenings and consultations for all new hires and contractors.
Follows hospital protocol in obtaining results for drug testing.
Administers annual health screenings and vaccines for hospital employees and contractors.
Administers weekly health screenings for select employee populations as required by state, county and/or federal regulatory requirements.
Understands the legal and ethical issues regarding the safekeeping and communication of results to
HR.
Performs PPO skin testing and phlebotomy for communicable disease exposures as per protocols established by hospital policy.
Reports exposure results to the Infection Control RN
Maintains adequate record keeping in a secure environment.
Participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities and monitoring as requested.
Performs FIT Testing
Performs required OSHA reporting.
Facilitates new hire orientation.
Coordinate the workers' compensation program to ensure appropriate management of all aspects of workers compensation claims. Participates in and reviews progress and metrics to identify risk and work with the Environment of Care committee to implement actions plans. Provide case managementservices to assure timely medical care and early return to work when possible.
Coordinates with Centralized Tenet Leave of Absence team all aspect of hospital's leave of absence program in accordance with Tenet Policy and practices with state and federal law; when requested by Centralized Leave of Absence, provides accurate and timely written communication to employees/management regarding the status and process of an employee's leave
QUALIFICATIONS:
RN License
Bachelor's Degree in nursing, occupational health or related field - preferred
Minimum of 1-3 years experience in Employee Health/Occupational Health field strongly preferred.
5-7 years experience working in Acute Care hospital/organization - preferred
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills
Strong Computer Skills including Word, Excel, and web-based applications
Pay Range: $42.93 - $66.52 Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an employee�s qualifications and experience.
