Schedule: Parttime
Shift: Days - Monday – Friday
The community you will be caring for: AdventHealth Palm Coast - 60 Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32164
The role you will contribute:
This is a newly approved position created in response to our growing volume. Join a collaborative Physics Team consisting of 5 FTE Physicists and 5 FTE Dosimetrists. Your role will be primarily providing clinical Physics support to the Advent Health Palm Coast Cancer Center. The center has recently added a second Rad Onc. The center has a Truebeam with Align RT and an older 2100 slated to be replaced within the next 2 years. The Physics and Dosimetry Team has a regional architecture meaning you have coverage and backup support. The Region consists of 3 Cancer Centers. 3 Physicists including the Chief are stationed at Advent Health Daytona one Physicist is at Advent Health Deland. You would be joining an established Physicist at Advent Health Palm Coast. We use the following software and hardware:
Aria is our EMR. We have Eclipse and Radformation’s Clearcheck, ClearCalc, EZ Fluence and Autocontour licensing for plan safety quality, standardization, and efficiency . We have Brainlab Elements MME, Spine, and AVM modules at AH Daytona if you want to be part of SRS planning team. Physics QA equipment includes Portal Dosimetry licenses for all linacs for IMRT QA, Mobius Doselab Pro for TG142 compliance, IBA BluePhantom2 for commissioning, SNC1D tank and dosimetry software for annuals, Mapcheck3, IC Profiler and wedge plates for monthlies, IBA Matrixx, and other standard equipment. You will be expected to help cover from time to time at Advent Health Daytona.
The Rad Onc group was established in 2014 and they are Advent Health employees. They are using the latest linac based regimens including hypofractionation, SRS, SBRT Lung Liver and Prostate, and now DIBH APBI.
There are 5 Rad Oncs in our region and the 5 Dosimetrists efficiently plan for all centers. This was made possible through standardized tools and communication practices between Dosimetry and the sites Rad Oncs, RTTs, and Physicists. Most of the Physicists are adept planners but Physics planning is not a requirement for this role, and would not take a significant portion of time, rather we do it because we enjoy the challenge and have the time. Additionally, Advent Health Daytona actively hosts Dosimetry students from John Patrick University for their 720 hour clinical internship.
