AMGA Research and Analytics is AMGA’s engine for innovative health research and analytics. We work directly with member organizations, helping them use data to drive clinical decision-making, enhance patient-centered care, transform care systems, and improve population health. AMGA has access to an unparalleled clinical data resource — longitudinal EHR and claims data for more than 50 million patients.
AMGA is looking for an individual to lead mixed methods health services research stuides from proposal to publication, demonstrating an avid interest in health analytics, research, and translation. The Research Scientist should have experience writing grant proposals, leading multi-site and multi-faceted research studies, including tracking and producing interim deliverables, working with study sponsors, both federal and private, presenting findings and writing manuscripts.
Summary of Responsibilities
Lead qualitative and mixed-methods research projects that help AMGA members innovate care delivery processes, evaluate interventions, and promote rapid improvement in outcomes at lower overall costs
Develop and manage project plans and timelines, including delivery of key budget milestones
Collaborate with other team members to design project proposals and research protocols
Conduct focus groups, interviews, environmental scans, and literature reviews
Build and maintain relationships with member health care organization participants in research to support overall research recruitment efforts. Maintain and support AMGA member database.
Manage relationships with federal and private project sponsors, and other research partners.
Capture and highlight best practices and develop strategies, such as tool kits, white papers, conference presentations, and workshops, to disseminate and amplify across AMGA membership and other key stakeholders
Lead development of peer reviewed manuscripts for research studies as appropriate.
Master’s degree in a health-related field, e.g., health services research, health economics, epidemiology; PhD preferred
10+ years of relevant work experience, including leading research studies and managing projects for health care organization, communications firm, government agency, or life sciences company
Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research
Strong project management skills including but not limited to an ability to effectively liaise with project sponsor/funder, coordinate activities among multiple team members, meet deadlines, track budgets, manage multiple tasks and projects, and document and communicate success
Excellent oral and superb written communication skills are required, with experience writing for a variety of audiences (e.g., providers, researchers, administrators) across different channels (e.g., newsletters, posters, publications, website content)
Strong team member skills
Experience planning and managing on-site events and workshops a plus
