This is the heartbeat of our organization and your time will be spent in a supportive, team environment with resources to help you flourish and leaders who care about your success. Job Responsibilities* Responsible for the development, maintenance, coordination and education of all aspects of the Hospital Emergency Management Program for the assigned facilities.* Accountable for chairing the Hospital Emergency Management Committee.* Provides administrative support for emergency management program and determines scheduling for training programs including conducting and coordinating disaster drills within the hospitals.* Serves as a resource to Administration, Department Managers, staff and offsite personnel in the development of their department specific disaster plans and readiness.* Ensures that all staff is educated on the Emergency Management Program and their department specific plans.* Represents the Hospital in all regulatory surveys involving emergency management and ensures that all regulatory requirements for EMP are met.This includes OSHA and DNV surveys.* Represents the Hospital in all Federal, State and local committees dealing with emergency management issues. This includes participating in community emergency activities, such as community fairs, CERT training and workshops, as requested by the communities.* Responsible for developing and coordinating the HazMat training for the Emergency Department, refresher courses and yearly fit testing according to OSHA requirements.* Maintains inventory of HazMat.* Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.* Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function well under stressful situations.* Attends and participates in management and other meetings as required.* Maintains established hospital and department policies, procedures, and objectives. Including development, implementation, review, and revision of emergency management related policies, procedures and protocols.* Actively supports and maintains the departments Performance Improvement Activities, safety, education, environmental, and infection control.* Assures compliance with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.* Assures confidentiality of hospital and patient records.* Able to identify and apply the principles of National Patient Safety Goals.What You Bring/Job Requirements:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: Education Requirements* High School Diploma/G.E.D. RequiredBachelor's degree in nursing, engineering, behavioral science, business, hospital administration, or related field preferredMinimum Experience Requirements* Four years of progressive responsibility in hospital operations or related field. * Knowledge of TJC accreditation policies, practices, management and regulatory law required. * Must have a good understanding of Incident Command System, emergency planning, preparedness, response and recovery in regard to emergency management. * Must have HazMat awareness and preparation training.* Must be able to work with community organizations in educating citizens regarding emergency preparedness. * Must have strong planning, program development, and program implementation skills.Your Connected Community:When people and places align, incredible things happen.
