The work schedule for this position is: Tuesday-Saturday, 2:00 am - 10:30 am
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Provides assistance in the interpretation of histologic specimens, and technical advice upon request.
Perform complete dissection, gross description, selection and submission of tissue for microscopic examination and special studies following departmental guidelines.
Grossing of all complex and routine specimens. Grossing any routine carryover as needed after grossing complex specimens.
Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies and procedures.
Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and work to correct or report the problem.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or related science.
Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology is highly preferred.
2 years of experience preferred.
Experience in a high-volume clinical laboratory environment is preferred.
Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance processes.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
High level of attention to detail along with strong organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
