The work schedule for this position is: Tuesday-Saturday, 2:00 am - 10:30 am

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Provides assistance in the interpretation of histologic specimens, and technical advice upon request.
• Perform complete dissection, gross description, selection and submission of tissue for microscopic examination and special studies following departmental guidelines.
• Grossing of all complex and routine specimens. Grossing any routine carryover as needed after grossing complex specimens.
• Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies and procedures.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and work to correct or report the problem.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or related science.
• Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology is highly preferred.
• 2 years of experience preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume clinical laboratory environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance processes.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High level of attention to detail along with strong organizational skills
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
