Clinical Support Associate/Nursing Assistants support patient care in a variety of our different units (based on what unit(s) have openings). As a Clinical Support Associate/Nursing Assistant, you will provide patient care and support to various ages of children from newborns through young adulthood including but not limited to acute medical/surgical, hematology/oncology, critical care and emergency patients. Open positions are within the Saint Paul Emergency Department, Saint Paul and Minneapolis MedSurg floors, and our Saint Paul and Minneapolis Float Team.
Currently hiring for the Saint Paul and Minneapolis Hospital campuses for a start date of Monday October 9th, 2023.
Clinical Support Associate/Nursing Assistants are key members of the patient care team and will provide safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff based on the unit needs; you will also maintain equipment and supplies per unit standards. Many of our Clinical Support Associate/Nursing Assistants are nursing students pursing an Associates or BSN degree. This role offers practical hands-on experience supporting patients and families.
We have a variety of open positions at both the Minneapolis and Saint Paul Children's Minnesota hospital campuses. We have 8- and 12-hour shift lengths available, for day shift, evening shift as well as overnight shifts.
Completion of one clinical course of an RN program OR listed on the state's Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire date. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another CSA position. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Education * High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience * One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities * Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required. * Strong organizational skills. * Excellent customer service skills. * Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position. * Skills in basic computer operation.
