OverviewThe Infection Preventionist provides leadership and is responsible for the day-to-day activities for infection prevention at any of the WakeMed Health & Hospitals facilities, clinics or services. The Infection Preventionist is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, data and reporting of hospital acquired infection trends/clusters to intervene in the interest of patients', staff and visitors' safety.
