The following are requirements for appointment of a histopathology technologist in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). These requirements apply to all histopathology technologists in the General Schedule (GS) 0601 series. As crucial members of the pathology and laboratory medicine service, histopathology technologists possess broad knowledge of biological sciences and the skills necessary to process anatomic pathology specimens.
